Earthquake related patent

Prof. Ravi Sinha and Dr. Pranesh Murnal of Civil Engineering Department have recently filed a patent application on earthquake-protective devices (known as Variable Frequency Pendulum Isolator (VFPI) and Constant Period Pendulum Isolator or CPPI) that can be used in structures to increase their resistance to earthquakes. These devices have been found to be significantly superior to other internationally available state-of-the-art base isolation systems
